Staying at the Anglers Return

While staying with us, we really do everything possible to make your visit peaceful and relaxing. The guest house has been in the family for over 40 years – where your host, Lynn Hill will see to it you have everything you need to fully enjoy one of the most picturesque regions in Ireland.

Rooms

We offer five mid-sized bedrooms, with a double ensuite and four sharing two bathrooms with showers. Each room has a washbasin and is outfitted with robes for the short dash to the bathrooms. They're all individually and tastefully decorated and furnished with traditional period antiques, very clean – and ultra-comfortable beds! There are no televisions – only glorious views over the river and gardens.

Now Offering Yurt Camping!

Sitting in a high corner of the tumbling garden, looking down over the veg patch and the twining terraces sit our new yurt accommodations. Inside, fairy lights wind through the beams above the bed and carry the garden's wild floral theme into the rugs and cushions and even to the paintwork on the door.

There are gas hobs for cooking, a solar shower, a loo and mains power for the occasional creature comfort like lights, a kettle or an electric blanket, but the emphasis is soundly on the simple life. Hop over the back fence into great hiking country, try a little fishing or explore a little up the coast and find a deserted beach.

Because of its location, The Anglers Return is an ideal place to stay while touring all of Connemara – which is impossible to experience in just one day! For this reason we offer a reduced rate to those who stay more than one night.
